Alisha Caffrey is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law whose practice focuses on representing Veterans in complex disability appeals, with particular emphasis on mental health conditions, increased-rating claims, and litigation before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Based in Houston, Texas, she is a VA-accredited attorney and an attorney advocate before the CAVC. Her work is grounded in careful review of C-file evidence, identification of legal and medical errors, and development of persuasive arguments designed to give each Veteran the strongest path toward a successful outcome.
At Berry Law, Alisha combines technical precision with a deeply client-centered approach. She spends significant time communicating with clients so she can understand not only the record in the file, but also how each disability affects a Veteran’s day-to-day life. That perspective helps her present claims and appeals clearly, accurately, and powerfully. She has said that by navigating the complicated appeals process on behalf of her clients, she aims to help Veterans feel supported, informed, and confident that their case is being handled with genuine care.
Alisha’s work is driven by the belief that Veterans deserve an advocate who is as committed to their fight as they were to ours. She has described many of her clients as coming to the firm feeling unheard, overlooked, or dismissed by the system, and she sees it as both an honor and a responsibility to stand in that gap for them. One of the most meaningful moments in her practice came when she helped a Veteran who had been fighting the VA for years secure a significant increase for a mental health condition that affected every part of his life. After the win, he told her it was the first time he felt seen and believed since leaving service. For Alisha, that moment was a powerful reminder that this work is not just about claims. It is about restoring dignity, stability, and hope.
Although Alisha is not a Veteran herself, military service is part of her family history. Her grandfather served in the U.S. Army, and that family connection contributes to the respect and seriousness she brings to this practice. She has said that serving Veterans is deeply meaningful because the people who sacrificed so much for the country deserve not just legal representation, but an advocate fully invested in understanding their story, their struggles, and the real-life impact their disabilities have on them.
Alisha believes clients should never feel like their case is just another file. She has emphasized that Veterans often come to Berry Law after years of feeling ignored or dismissed by the VA, and that her role is to make sure they finally feel heard, supported, and fiercely advocated for. Her approach is thorough, strategic, and grounded in clear communication, ensuring that clients understand what is happening in their case and why.
She earned a Political Science degree from Texas Tech University in 2013, with double minors in Legal Studies and Psychology, and graduated as a Presidential Silver Scholar. She is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and, in 2025, became both a VA-accredited attorney and an attorney advocate before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Outside of work, Alisha is the mother of two young boys, Caffrey and Brooks, whom she says bring joy, energy, and dinosaurs to her life. She shares that joy with her fiancé and soon-to-be stepchildren and looks forward to the next chapter as they continue building their blended family. A trained makeup artist and proud Texan, Alisha is also an avid sports fan who supports the Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, Texas Tech athletics, and Manchester United. She enjoys staying active, spending time with family, and giving back through organizations including Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Kick for Nick Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity. At home, life is kept lively by her goldendoodle, Ruby.
