Mykaylan Burner is a Personal Injury Attorney at Berry Law who represents individuals and families navigating the aftermath of serious injuries caused by the negligence of others. She is driven by a strong commitment to advocacy in emotionally difficult, high-stakes circumstances, and she approaches each case with the understanding that an injury claim is rarely just about a legal dispute. It is often about medical uncertainty, financial pressure, disrupted routines, and the challenge of moving forward after someone else’s carelessness has changed a client’s life. Mykaylan’s practice is grounded in the belief that effective representation requires both strategic legal work and genuine compassion for what clients are experiencing.
Admitted to the Nebraska State Bar and the Nebraska District Court in September 2024, Mykaylan brings a thoughtful, service-oriented perspective to her work in personal injury law. She focuses on helping injured clients understand their options, feel supported throughout the legal process, and pursue the compensation they deserve with confidence. Her background in public advocacy and community service has shaped a practice style that is careful, empathetic, and attentive to the broader circumstances affecting each client, not just the immediate legal issues on paper.
At Berry Law, Mykaylan represents personal injury clients with a clear sense of purpose: to stand beside people who are often facing pain, uncertainty, and systems that can feel overwhelming at exactly the wrong time. She understands that many clients come to a lawyer after one of the most difficult periods of their lives, and she takes seriously the responsibility of guiding them through that process with clarity and persistence. Her work centers on making sure clients not only have an advocate in the courtroom or at the negotiating table, but also someone who recognizes the human impact behind every case.
Mykaylan’s broader professional background strengthens that advocacy. Before and during her legal career, she worked in both state legislatures and the U.S. Congress, experience that gave her a deeper understanding of how laws, institutions, and policy decisions affect real people. That perspective helps her see personal injury cases not only as individual disputes, but also as moments where accountability, fairness, and access to justice matter in practical ways. It also informs the insight she brings to case strategy, client communication, and the long-term consequences that injuries can have on a person’s work, family, and quality of life.
Mykaylan’s commitment to serving others was evident throughout law school. At the Creighton Juvenile Justice Legal Clinic, she represented young clients involved in diversion and probation matters and gained firsthand experience advocating for people whose futures depended on careful, effective representation. One of her proudest early professional moments was first-chairing a hearing that resulted in a client’s successful release from probation after the client had made significant progress. That result reflected not only legal preparation, but also her belief that advocacy can play a meaningful role in helping people move forward after difficult chapters in their lives.
She has further shown her dedication to service through more than 50 hours of pro bono work, which earned her the Creighton Pro Bono Service Distinction and a certificate from the Nebraska Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission and the Nebraska State Bar Association. Those honors underscore a throughline in her career: a sustained commitment to making legal help more accessible and to using her training in ways that directly benefit people facing serious challenges. That same instinct now shapes her work for injured clients at Berry Law, where empathy, preparation, and accountability remain central to her approach.
During law school, she was part of the Creighton Scholars’ Program for academically exceptional applicants and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Criminal Process of Adjudication in Fall 2023, an honor awarded to the student with the highest grade in the course. Her academic record reflects both strong intellectual discipline and a clear commitment to practical, service-driven legal work.
Outside of the office, Mykaylan enjoys lifting weights, reading horror novels, spending time with her bearded dragon, and attending live music events. Over the next several years, she plans to continue deepening her legal expertise, strengthening her advocacy skills, and making a meaningful impact in her community through her work in personal injury law. Those ambitions are consistent with the qualities she already brings to her practice at Berry Law: discipline, compassion, and a genuine desire to help people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
