Service to Veterans

Taylor’s commitment to this work is grounded in his own military service. He served in the Colorado Army National Guard from 2012 to 2018, where he worked as both a forward observer and a military police officer. During that time, he assisted in state emergency responses, including the 2013 Poudre Canyon floods, and earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Colorado Emergency Service Ribbon. That experience gave him firsthand insight into the responsibilities, pressures, and sacrifices that come with military service.

His connection to Veterans advocacy also comes from personally navigating the VA process. Because he has seen the system from the claimant’s side, Taylor understands that the fight for benefits is rarely abstract. It can affect a Veteran’s health, family life, livelihood, and sense of dignity. He has said that the warrior ethos of making sure no one gets left behind continues to shape the way he serves clients today. That principle informs both his legal work and his day-to-day commitment to ensuring that Veterans feel heard, prepared, and strongly represented.
