Charles Clark is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law who brings extensive experience in disability law to the representation of former service members seeking the benefits they earned through military service. Based in Saint Charles, Missouri, he focuses on helping Veterans navigate a system that can be bureaucratic, technical, and deeply frustrating without informed legal guidance. His daily work includes analyzing complex medical records, conducting legal research, and drafting persuasive briefs designed to move claims and appeals toward successful outcomes.
Since joining Berry Law in June 2025, Charles has devoted his practice to advocating for Veterans in their disability claims with precision, empathy, and a clear understanding of how administrative systems actually work. He has said that his prior experience inside both state and federal government agencies made him acutely aware of the challenges clients face when seeking disability benefits. That insight now allows him to anticipate obstacles, identify potential weak points in the record, and provide thoughtful representation rooted in both legal strategy and practical knowledge of how these systems operate.
One of the most meaningful experiences early in his time at Berry Law involved helping one of his first Veteran clients increase a disability rating from 0% to 80% in only four months. For Charles, that result was rewarding not only because of the practical benefit to the client, but because it illustrated how quickly the right legal advocacy can create meaningful change in a Veteran’s life. It reinforced for him the value of Berry Law’s mission and the real-world impact of focused, strategic appeals work.
Although Charles is not a Veteran himself, he is motivated by a strong commitment to helping those who served receive the compensation and recognition they earned. He has said that the sacrifices made by Veterans extend far beyond active-duty service and that helping them navigate the VA disability system is his way of making sure those sacrifices are not overlooked. His work is guided by a desire to remove unnecessary procedural and bureaucratic barriers so Veterans can access the support they deserve.
Charles’s broader legal background also shapes the way he serves clients today. Before joining Berry Law, he worked at the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Missouri, the Social Security Administration, and firms in the private sector. Those roles gave him valuable experience with disability-related advocacy and with administrative structures that affect people’s lives. He now applies that knowledge directly to Veterans disability law, helping clients overcome a process that too often feels opaque and impersonal.
During law school, he also spent a semester studying international comparative law at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa, an experience that broadened his legal and cultural perspective. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2008, became a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Accredited Attorney in 2025, and was admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims the same year.
Outside of work, Charles enjoys staying active through exercise and golf. He is also an avid cook and finds great joy in spending time with his wife and their two rescue dogs. He welcomes the opportunity to put his years of legal experience to work on behalf of the Veteran community.
