A serious injury can change your health, work, finances, and family life without warning. At Berry Law, we’ve got you.

Berry Law was founded in 1965 by attorney and Vietnam Veteran John Stevens Berry, Sr. An Infantryman turned JAG Officer, he began his legal career fighting for clients in the combat zones of Vietnam, including his successful defense of Green Berets accused of the murder of a double agent. After his military service, he committed to helping his fellow Veterans and protecting the constitutional rights of all injured Americans — a mission that still defines Berry Law today.
His son, John S. Berry, served as an army company commander in Iraq and is a VA-accredited attorney who currently leads Berry Law's mission of representing injured Veterans and their families in personal injury cases.

Not going to the hospital immediately after an accident does not automatically disqualify you from bringing a case, but it can make the process more challenging. Many TBI symptoms, such as confusion, sensitivity to light, or mood changes, have a delayed onset and may not be immediately obvious in the adrenaline-filled moments following an incident. While insurance companies may attempt to use a lack of immediate medical records to argue that your injury was caused by a subsequent event, this is not a winning argument if we have the right evidence. We work to reconstruct the timeline of your incident and connect it to your later diagnosis through expert medical testimony. The most important step is to seek a medical evaluation as soon as you recognize symptoms, as this establishes the necessary link between the incident and your current condition.
The type of benefit matters. VA disability compensation is based on service-connected disability. VA pension has income and net-worth limits, so a settlement may affect it. Have your attorney review your benefits and any applicable repayment or offset rules before settling.
