Kevin Mitchell is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law who represents former service members in claims and appeals for VA disability compensation. Service to Veterans

Although Kevin is not a Veteran himself, military service is woven deeply into his family life. His wife is a Veteran, and members of his extended family have also served. That personal connection shapes his understanding of what service demands not only from the individual who wears the uniform, but also from the family who serve alongside them. He has said that he appreciates working for Berry Law because the firm’s mission aligns with his own desire to support those who gave so much and to ensure they are not shut down by a system that can feel impersonal or hard to navigate.

Kevin also brings a distinct advantage to this work through his experience inside the Department of Veterans Affairs. Having spent 16 years within the VA, he understands how the system operates, where cases tend to stall, and what kinds of evidence and arguments can make the difference between denial and success. That background gives him an insider’s perspective on how claims are evaluated and allows him to advocate with both strategic precision and practical insight. He does not simply know the law; he understands the system from the inside.

In addition to his legal practice, Kevin values time with his wife and children and describes family life as central to who he is.
