Practice Focus

Lou Traore is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law dedicated to guiding Veterans through the complex process of obtaining the benefits they deserve. Through this work, Lou advocates before the VA to ensure every Veteran receives the full disability benefits they have earned through their service.

‍

Role at Berry Law

Lou chose Berry Law because of its strong culture of “Veterans Serving Veterans” and its national reputation for advocacy. She views her role as part of a mission larger than herself, knowing her work makes a difference every day. At Berry Law, she is committed not only to achieving strong legal outcomes but also to ensuring every Veteran feels respected, supported, and understood throughout the process. Her practice is grounded in the belief that legal representation should provide both skilled advocacy and a stabilizing presence for clients who may feel worn down by years of delay or denial.

‍

Service to Veterans

Although Lou is not a Veteran, she brings a meaningful perspective as a veteran spouse and a former VA employee. That connection gives her firsthand appreciation for the realities of military life and the sacrifices service members and their families make. It also deepens her sense of purpose in Veterans’ disability advocacy. One of her most impactful experiences involved helping a Veteran increase his rating from 10% to 90% after years of frustration with the VA. While the result was significant, what stayed with Lou most was the client’s reaction—he felt truly understood and supported for the first time in years. For Lou, that moment captured the heart of her work: restoring confidence, clarity, and hope while pursuing the benefits Veterans have earned.

‍

Background & Interests

During law school, she gained valuable experience as a law clerk and successfully secured a remand from the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims—an accomplishment that reflected both her legal skill and her dedication to Veterans advocacy early in her career. That foundation continues to shape her approach to appeals today, with careful preparation, commitment, and a focus on practical results for each client.

‍

Beyond the Office

Beyond her professional practice, Lou enjoys time with her family, attending her sons' soccer games, and organizing family gatherings. She channels that same care, energy, and perseverance into her representation of Berry Law's clients.
