About Montana
Practice Focus

Montana Crow is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law in the firm’s Omaha, Nebraska office. She represents Veterans at every stage of the VA appeals process, including matters at the Regional Office level, before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Her practice covers the full range of Veterans disability issues, including service connection, increased ratings, and earlier effective dates, with a consistent focus on helping clients secure the maximum benefits available under the law as early as possible.

Montana is known for pairing rigorous legal advocacy with clear, consistent client communication. She believes Veterans should understand the strategy behind their cases, the steps being taken on their behalf, and the realistic opportunities and challenges ahead. That commitment to transparency and accessibility is a defining part of her practice. Her work has earned notable recognition, including the Martindale-Hubbell Client Champion Platinum distinction in 2025, AVVO Clients’ Choice Awards, and an invitation to speak at NOVA CLE in September 2024. She is also admitted to practice in Nebraska, the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Role at Berry Law

At Berry Law, Montana combines client advocacy with leadership responsibilities that shape the firm’s Veterans disability practice. She leads a team of attorneys and case managers dedicated to helping Veterans pursue the benefits they earned through service. In that role, she brings a strategic, team-oriented approach to case development and helps maintain the high standards of preparation, communication, and service that clients expect from the firm.

Montana also serves as the director of Berry Law’s Summer Associate Internship Program. Through that program, she recruits promising law students from across the country and helps train the next generation of attorneys who will serve Veterans in disability claims and appeals. Her leadership extends beyond internal development to precedent-setting advocacy. One of the most meaningful moments in her career was serving as co-counsel in Duran v. McDonough before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, where she helped prepare for and conduct oral argument on the interpretation of VA regulations and diagnostic codes for Parkinson’s disease. The outcome expanded benefits for Veterans living with degenerative disabilities and underscores the level of advocacy she brings to both high-impact litigation and individual client matters.

Service to Veterans

Montana’s commitment to Veterans is deeply personal. Her grandfather served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War, and his legacy helped shape her respect for the sacrifices made by service members and their families. Seeing how difficult it could be for members of that generation to secure the benefits they earned left a lasting impression and helped direct her legal career toward Veterans’ disability law.

That personal connection is strengthened by her background in policy and government affairs. During her undergraduate years, Montana worked in policy-related roles that exposed her to the realities of navigating federal bureaucracies. That experience gave her an early understanding of how large systems can become confusing, slow-moving, and difficult for ordinary people to navigate alone. Today, she uses that perspective to help Veterans cut through red tape, understand the appeals process, and press claims with persistence and clarity. Whether she is arguing a case before the CAVC or helping a single Veteran establish service connection, she approaches each matter with the same sense of purpose: to make sure those who served are heard, respected, and fully advocated for.

Background & Interests

While at Creighton, she received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Legal Research and Writing III, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Criminal Law. She was also a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and served as Senior Lead Articles Editor for Creighton Law Review, Volume 53.

Her professional development has continued well beyond law school. Outside of work, she enjoys Saturday morning family dance parties, summer days by the pool with her family, tending her flower garden, traveling, and photography.
