About Nichole
Practice Focus

Nichole Keddington is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law who focuses on advocating for Veterans and their families in benefits claims and appeals. Based in Northern Virginia, she brings a public-service mindset and deep familiarity with Veterans law to each matter she handles. Her day-to-day practice centers on writing appeals of VA benefits decisions so that Veterans can obtain compensation for service-related disabilities. Nichole is especially motivated by the opportunity to serve those who have served and to help clients navigate a system that can be technical, demanding, and often difficult to understand from the outside.

Role at Berry Law

At Berry Law, Nichole applies thoughtful, detail-oriented advocacy to claims that often turn on close reading of records, legal standards, and procedural history. She has said that she enjoys diving deep into the weeds on each case, and that she often finds information the VA has overlooked that can change the outcome entirely. That investigative and analytical mindset is central to the way she represents clients. Rather than treating a denial as final, she works to identify overlooked evidence, missed legal points, and opportunities to present a clearer and more persuasive appeal.

Nichole’s work is rooted in the belief that Veterans deserve careful attention and meaningful advocacy, not just routine processing. She sees her role as helping clients challenge decisions that may have failed to account for the full record and making sure their cases are evaluated with the seriousness they deserve.

Service to Veterans

Although Nichole is not a Veteran herself, military service is a longstanding part of her family history. Both of her grandfathers served, as did an uncle, an aunt, and multiple cousins. That personal connection contributes to the respect she brings to this practice and reinforces her commitment to giving back to those who have served. She has expressed that she loves being able to serve in return to the people whose sacrifices make everyday freedoms possible.

Nichole also brings a particularly valuable perspective to Veterans law because, before coming to Berry Law, she worked at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals. In that role, she reviewed Veterans benefits claims, analyzed medical and service records, and helped draft appellate decisions. That experience gave her firsthand insight into how appeals are evaluated and what the VA is looking for when reviewing a case. She now uses that background to advocate more effectively for clients, drawing on an insider’s understanding of how decisions are made and where claims often go wrong.

Background & Interests

Before entering private practice, she worked on Capitol Hill, gaining experience with the development and interpretation of federal law. Together with her later service at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, that background gave her a strong foundation in administrative law, public service, and the practical realities of federal decision-making.

Outside of her legal practice, Nichole is married and has two sons. She enjoys volleyball, tennis, reading, and watching football. She brings the same energy, dedication, and care to her personal life that she brings to advocating for Veterans and their families.
