Scott Luis is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law who combines legal advocacy with firsthand military experience in service to former service members and their families. His practice is focused on helping Veterans pursue the disability benefits they earned through military service, and he approaches that work with a clear understanding of both the legal standards involved and the real-world consequences that delayed or denied benefits can have on a Veteran’s life. Scott is committed to strong written advocacy, careful case development, and client-centered representation that recognizes how much is at stake in every claim and appeal.
At Berry Law, Scott is part of a team devoted to representing Veterans with the urgency, respect, and diligence their cases deserve. He is aligned with the firm’s mission of serving those who served and helping clients navigate a system that can often feel frustrating, technical, and unnecessarily adversarial. Scott believes Veterans should not have to fight a second battle just to obtain access to the benefits they earned in uniform. His work reflects a commitment to holding the VA accountable and helping clients pursue fair and timely outcomes through strategic, persistent advocacy.
Scott’s dedication to this practice is rooted in his own military service. He served seven years in the United States Army as an Engineer Officer, beginning at Fort Drum, New York, where he deployed to Iraq with the 1st Brigade, 10th Mountain Division. He later served at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, with the 5th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade. Through that experience, Scott developed a firsthand understanding of both the demands of military life, and the physical and mental toll service can take on those who answer the call. That perspective informs the way he represents Veterans today. He understands that many clients are dealing not only with legal issues, but also with long-term health conditions, family pressures, and uncertainty about the support available to them.
Scott’s military honors include the Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Sapper Tab, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal with Campaign Star. These honors reflect a career of disciplined service and help explain the depth of his commitment to representing fellow Veterans with integrity and purpose.
He brings that academic training together with practical military experience to advocate for Veterans in a way that is both informed and deeply personal. Outside of his legal practice, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and their dogs. He is an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoys playing golf in his free time.
