Taylor Loy is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law whose practice is centered on developing strong, well-supported appeals for Veterans pursuing disability benefits. Based in Omaha, Nebraska, she focuses much of her time on reviewing VA decisions, identifying the most effective appeal strategies, locating evidence within client files, researching medical literature and other supporting materials, and drafting appeals designed to maximize the likelihood of success. Her approach is methodical, case-specific, and rooted in a determination to pursue the best outcome possible for each client.
Since joining Berry Law in August of 2024, Taylor has built her practice around the detailed work that successful VA appeals often require. She understands that behind every denial is a person trying to make sense of a process that can feel complex, discouraging, and unfair. Her role is to bring clarity to that process by digging into the record, exploring every viable theory of service connection, identifying mistakes the VA made, and pushing for those errors to be corrected. She has said that she wants the best outcome that can be achieved for every client, and that commitment is reflected in the thoroughness she brings to her case development.
One of the most rewarding parts of her work has been hearing directly from clients about the impact a successful case has had on their lives. She has spoken about how meaningful it is to learn that the progress resulting from an appeal helped a client reach a point where they could finally buy a home, or that recognition from the VA provided validation that a condition was connected to service. For Taylor, those moments underscore that this work is about more than legal arguments alone. It is about changing the trajectory of a person’s life in concrete and lasting ways.
Although Taylor is not a Veteran herself, military service is part of her family background, and that connection informs the respect and seriousness she brings to her work. She has said that it means a great deal to be able to help and advocate for those who sacrificed so that others can live their day-to-day lives. That perspective shapes the way she approaches each claim: with empathy, persistence, and a willingness to do the deep file review necessary to build the strongest possible case.
Taylor’s advocacy is rooted in the belief that Veterans deserve more than a routine filing process. They deserve an attorney who will fully investigate their claims, listen carefully to their goals, and explore every available avenue for service connection and increased compensation. She is especially focused on making sure that case-specific facts and overlooked evidence are surfaced and used effectively in support of an appeal.
Her legal training and practical experience have shaped a style of advocacy that balances close factual development with careful written analysis. Born and raised in the Midwest, she values family, community, and practical hard work, all of which influence the way she serves clients today.
Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time with family and friends and has a strong interest in gardening, cooking, and baking. An animal lover at heart, she brings the same patience and care to her personal life that she brings to her work on behalf of Berry Law’s clients.
