Victoria LaVilla is a Veterans Disability Attorney at Berry Law who represents former service members in disability claims and appeals before the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Based in Houston, Texas, she is a VA-accredited attorney whose practice focuses on navigating complex VA systems, developing persuasive appeals, securing earlier effective dates, maximizing disability ratings, and advocating for fair outcomes in Veterans law matters. She takes pride in balancing a high-volume caseload while ensuring that every Veteran receives thoughtful, thorough representation.
At Berry Law, Victoria approaches Veterans law with a strong sense of mission and accountability. She has said that her role means standing shoulder to shoulder with those who served, helping them navigate a system that is often overwhelming while working to secure the benefits they deserve. For Victoria, this work is about more than filing paperwork or managing deadlines. It is about holding the system accountable. Veterans upheld their oath, and she believes the system should uphold its promise to them. Her practice is grounded in the conviction that benefits should not be lost in red tape, incomplete reasoning, or avoidable error.
Victoria cares deeply about her clients’ cases and about the people behind them. She has emphasized that behind every claim is a story, a family, and often years of sacrifice. When she takes on a case, she looks for every path to service connection, every opportunity to maximize benefits, and every way to strengthen the argument. Her clients can expect more than routine processing; they can expect an attorney who is actively fighting to ensure they receive what they have earned.
Victoria’s commitment to this work is personal. Her father served in the U.S. Marine Corps and is himself represented by Berry Law, a connection that played a significant role in why she applied to join the firm. That experience gave her a firsthand appreciation for what quality Veterans advocacy can mean to a family and deepened her commitment to helping service members secure the compensation they deserve.
One of the most rewarding aspects of her work has been receiving messages from clients and their families about the impact of a successful award. She has described how meaningful it is to read an email from a Veteran explaining that an outcome changed the financial stability of the household and improved the family’s well-being. For Victoria, those moments are a reminder that the long hours and hard work matter because the results are not abstract—they affect real lives in concrete ways.
Before joining Berry Law, she served as an intern and later as a prosecutor in the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office from July 2019 through September 2024. That experience gave her substantial advocacy experience and sharpened her ability to manage large caseloads, analyze records, and develop persuasive arguments. She also served as Co-President of the Republican Law Society, Secretary of The Federalist Society, a Langdell Scholar teaching assistant, and participated in a study abroad program in the Czech Republic.
Outside of work, Victoria enjoys spending time with her husband and little ones. Faith is an important part of her life, and she enjoys attending church and participating in Bible studies. She also loves being outdoors, traveling to new places, cooking, exercising, and occasionally letting loose with a little Disney karaoke.
